Policy Guesser

Policy Guesser is a free minigame built from other players' submissions to the Sandbox. Two policies appear on screen, labelled A and B, and the player guesses which one scored higher with the national voter map. A correct guess extends the player's streak and brings up the next pair. A wrong guess ends the game. The policies are real, unmoderated text written by other players, so the screen opens with a content warning that must be accepted before play begins.

Where the rounds come from

Every policy a player tests in the Sandbox can later appear as a round here, as long as it meets some basic checks on length and content. A pair whose scores are too close together is skipped, and the next policy in the batch is tried instead. One known problem is that Policy Guesser has no way of knowing which era's focus group produced an older submission's scores, so some policies originally tested against the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1990s or 2000s voters show the same flat score in every state. These policies can still turn up as rounds.

Play

After the content warning is accepted, two policies appear in quotation marks with the question of which one scored higher with voters. A correct guess reveals both scores, adds one to the streak, and shows a Next button. A wrong guess marks the cards, then shows a Game Over screen with the final pair, their scores, and the streak reached. Scores are shown to one decimal place and are coloured to show roughly how well a policy did. New pairs keep coming until the player loses or reaches a streak of 100, which ends the game as a win.

The Game Over screen offers buttons to share the result on X, WhatsApp or Reddit, pre-filled with the player's streak, and a Play Again button.
